Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately from the article and its talk page, especially if potentially libellous. The NYTimes is hardly a "weak source". Gokone, if you have more specific/substantive concerns, please share them -- but it's by no means obvious that there are good grounds for removing the material you object to.
