I would like english-unit measurements for the tourqe rating, as i don't understand "N·m"s. 70.106.36.130 22:02, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
These cars are not Mercedes-Benz; there is not a single Mercedes-Benz badge on them. For sub-brands of a brand such as Maybach, the usage is to use the sub-brands; {I can't decipher his intent here...} for instance there is no article about "Ford Mercury" or "General Motors Saab" or "DaimlerChrysler Dodge" or "Volkswagen Bentley". The original 1997 prototype of the Tokyo Motorshow was indeed called "Mercedes-Benz Maybach" and was bearing the Mercedes logo, but afterwards, DaimlerChrysler made the decision to market Maybach as a separate brand. - Umm, first of all, you don't know they don't have a MB badge (unless you own one). I can bet that they have a Mercedes emblem somewhere, on the engine, under the car (as seen with the Pagani zonda's engine).. Second, do you see a Volkswagen badge on a Skoda Octavia or Audi A3? Yet these cars are heavily based on the VW Golf.. and third, Infinity has Nissan emblems, Lexus has Toyota and Acura Honda, etc.
Does anyone have a reference regarding the fact that this vehicle is derived from the W140 ? The dimensions of the platform are so different that I am somewhat surprised by this statement. Hektor 07:43, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Anybody else heard about this? Some of the websites are calling it the Landaulet, even though that's a different model. --

The Price section in the article ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maybach_57_and_62#Prices ) has an error. The conversion factor between Euros and US dollars has been reversed on all but the entry for the Landaulet. I'll leave that for someone who is sure which is the correct starting price to fix. VW own Bentley, VW group build Bentley cars. ( www.volkswagenag.com/content/vwcorp/info_center/en/publications/2012/03/navigator-2012---facts-and-figures.bin.html/binarystorageitem/file/Navigator_11_06_2012_en_WEB.pdf )
BMW have nothing to do with Bentley other than supplying engines in the late 90s.
In fact, in 1998 VW owned and built both Bentley and Rolls Royce. It was only due to licencing from Rolls Royce plc that BMW became owners of the RR motor car marque.
I doubt that what is called a Landaulet by Maybach in fact is one. While a real landaulet is defined by a collapsible top over the rear part of the passenger compartment (including roof quarter panels), the Maybach offers a large sliding roof that includes the rear window, but quarter panels and roof sides stay in place.-- Chief tin cloud ( talk) 12:41, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
Under the paragraph title Design; Price: there is a link for the Maybach Landaulet. The link shows a separate page but it is then redirected back to this page, looped. 72.185.222.161 ( talk) 21:06, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
