Links in the "External links" section should be kept to a minimum. A lack of external links or a small number of external links is not a reason to add external links.
There is nothing wrong with adding one or more useful content-relevant links to the external links section of an article; however, excessive lists can dwarf articles and detract from the purpose of Wikipedia. On articles about topics with many fansites, for example, including a link to one major fansite may be appropriate.
Minimize the number of links. --

The etymology section is ambiguous and unclear about how the country got its name from an ancient kingdom with different territories. The ancient kigdom/province of Mauretania was initially in northern Morocco, and expanded later to western and central Algeria. I personally don't understand the etymology of this country, but I know that the French colonisation of the 20th century is strongly related. TybenFree ( talk) 00:03, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
Now I'm certainly not an expert on the Arabic language, but it seems to me that the Arabic version of the name of the national anthem of that country is "national anthem of the Mauretanians", rather than "National anthem of Mauritania".
I'd appreciate it if an expert could comment on this matter and rectify it if necessary. -- Mathmensch ( talk) 18:44, 3 July 2024 (UTC)
