In the early 1990's, the backup band for Lois Lane occasionally played their own gigs. (Think "The Band" which was the backup for Bob Dillon.) They were, in fact, quite good musicians -- I saw them live at De Heeren van Aemstel in Amsterdam in 1993. I met the Klemann sisters as they were hanging at the bar watching their friends -- very nice ladies. Anyway, 17 years is a long time and I can't remember the name that the backup band used when they played without the sisters. Perhaps someone can contact them to make the article more complete?

The result of the move request was: Moved. to
Loïs Lane (band).
WP:SMALLDETAILS has two clauses. One of them says "when renaming to a less ambiguous page name can be done without wandering from
WP:CRITERIA, such renaming should be considered." Several editors felt that the simple Loïs Lane title was too confusing, one of them citing
WP:ASTONISH. Another pointed out that the Loïs Lane band was much less prominent than the comics character. Someone who reads the band's name without looking at it carefully will be taken to the wrong target. When you Google for 'Loïs Lane' you'll notice that Google pays little or no attention to the diaeresis, giving you lots of hits for the comics character.

Support - The article need to be distinguish from the comic character. The current title "Loïs Lane" do not clearly label the article as a music girl group. The article name need to clearly show that this is the music girl group and not the comic book character "Lois Lane". The title need changing. I support renamed the article to "Loïs Lane (band)", simple and to the point.

Oppose – The requested move is not solving any existing problem, because there are no other Loïs Lane lemmas and the current hatnote already redirects people that reach this article by mistake. – Editør (

Support move to
Loïs Lane (band), per nomination. If the band were of equal or near equal prominence to the character, then SMALLDETAILS might make sense. In this case it doesn't, however. As the nominator says, the current title does not satisfy the "precision" clause of
WP:CRITERIA, because to most people's eyes the title would refer to the character. —
