On the contrary, the 1959 visit by Queen Elizabeth II was not a "state" visit per se to the United States. This was simply a formal meeting by Dwight Eisenhower and Queen Elizabeth II at the opening of the Saint Lawrence Seaway. There was no State Arrival Ceremony in either Ottawa or Washington D.C. or state dinner to speak of. So in effect, it might be wise to downgrade 1959 state visit since there wasn't one to begin with. -- 173.87.177.216 ( talk) 01:54, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
How is it known the Queen was there at the invitation of de Villepin, rather than the French being there at the invitation of the Canadians? I cannot find this in the source provided. Vimy is a Canadian monument, not a French one, and the Canadian prime minister was also present. DrKay ( talk) 20:12, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
This visit should be added in under the Canadian section je crois — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.20.124.52 ( talk) 20:57, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
The Queen visited Zagreb in 1972 during her 5-day state visit to Yugoslavia, so as Serbia is colored in the map, Croatia should also be. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 177.96.76.44 ( talk) 23:51, 26 December 2014 (UTC)
The Queen visited Asmara during her 8-day state visit to Ethiopia in 1965, so it should be colored as well in the map shown. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 177.96.76.44 ( talk) 23:53, 26 December 2014 (UTC)
The 1957 State Visit to the United States of America was made in name of Canada, not the United Kingdom, so it's not right to say that she visited New York in 1957 as Queen of the United Kingdom, because she didn't. She made it as Queen of Canada. Besides, President Eisenhower didn't host her there. He hosted her only in Washington D.C. during that visit. The host of the Queen in New York City was mayor Robert F. Wagner, Jr. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 177.40.77.209 ( talk) 04:24, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

It was not a state visit, but a private one. Protocol was flexibilized so that she could visit the Pope without having to dress formally on the occassion. Actually the original state visit was scheduled for March 2013, but the Queen got sick and had to cancel it. At the time she would be hosted by President Napolitano and not visit the Vatican City due to "sede vacante". So, the visit was later rescheduled for 2014 as a private one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BrendaAscot ( talk • contribs) 01:36, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

Hi, the list of cities seems to be incomplete, at least Stuttgart and Marbach were visited too.

The /info/en/?search=List_of_state_and_official_visits_by_Canada has some state visits made by Elizabeth II in her capacity as monarch of Canada, that are not mentioned here, for example, to France and Belgium in 2007, (Belgium IS mentioned under UK visits, however), among others should these be added into this article? 109.79.116.207 ( talk) 23:41, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
Why did Queen Elizabeth used the title "Queen of Canada" for two of her visits to the US? Should there be a note there? Yourlocallordandsavior ( talk) 07:48, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
Since encyclopedia articles are about events which have happened rather than events which have not occurred, the following list probably should not be included within the article itself. If someone can find a reliable source citation, then feel free to move this list into the article. This list includes the six member states of the Commonwealth of Nations which the Queen did not visit during her reign. Those six countries are noted on the List of Commonwealth visits made by Elizabeth II#Commonwealth countries and territories never visited by Elizabeth II but I thought it would be good to have all of the non-visited independent countries listed in a single table for those who might be looking for such information.
There are explanatory notes for various items such as states with limited recognition and the other non-UN members listed here.
During her reign, Queen Elizabeth II never visited the following countries - 89 member states of the United Nations, one UN observer state, nine non-UN member states with limited international recognition, and one associated state of New Zealand.

Was the visit by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip on 4–5 July 1988 really a State visit? According to photos on Category:Visit by Queen Elizabeth II to the Netherlands, 1988 and the Lijst van staatsbezoeken van Beatrix der Nederlanden (scroll to the second part with "Inkomende staatsbezoeken"), where there is no mention of a state visit by the Queen, I can only deduce that it was an ordinary visit, probably because of the celebration of William & Mary that year. Do you have proof that it was indeed a state visit, with ceremonies like wreath-laying and a state banquet? Why is the Queen's visit to NYC on 6 July 2010 during which she addressed the UN, laid a wreath at Ground Zero and opened the Queen Elizabeth II September 11 Garden (see /info/en/?search=Queen_Elizabeth_II_September_11th_Garden) not listed? 79.97.2.19 ( talk) 22:17, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
