Before anyone asks what will happen when a time comes where there are no ships held captive by somali pirates... When that happens this article will be turned into a redirect to
List of ships attacked by Somali pirates. The problem is that
...there are so many attacks - not all succesfull
...ships are held captive for an extended period of time making updates difficult
...reader will probably have a special interest in the ships that are still held captive and this would be something the main page and wikinews would want to link to rather than all the ships in the past four years
...it does not seem likely that the piracy in Somalia will cease any time soon so there will be a lot of ships held captive for a while.
The headers for the last three columns are 'Status', 'Date of attack'/'Date of release ' and 'Coordinates'/'Ransom demanded'. These are partly incorrect: for example the last column is always empty, and the ransom is under the 'Date Released' header. I suggest the following headers instead for the current table structure:
'Date of attack'/'Status' and 'Coordinates'/'Ransom demanded'.
I cannot do this change myself because rewriting templates exceeds my knowledge.
By the way, the field 'Status' is probably unneccessary as it is always 'captive' on this page.
