There are other medieval armors such as Japanese medieval armors, and there are other areas of the world that used armour during the medieval period, there are also post medieval European armours, renaming to "components of European armour" would allow all items of European armour to be included not just medieval armour. Deciding just what is and is not medieval really takes an expert.

The medieval period is a European period of history, not Japanese, from my understanding of it. Aside from that, the only place that used English during the time from approximately 500AD through 1500AD was England/British Isles (and only after English itself was developed), so the only English dialect relatively native to the topic is British English, as they did use armour in England. So "European" would be redundant with "medieval" being in the title. Applying Middle Ages to the rest of the world makes little sense, since the incidents in history to define the period only occurred in Europe. (except ending the period with the Age of Exploration, which was a global incident)

There are non plate armour components being listed such as "Brigandine" and "Hauberk" and there are armor items listed which are not just medieval armours, it would be far more inclusive to call it
Components of European armour as armour items from all of Europe are included already. I do not see anyone expert enough editing this article who can definitely tell which armor parts were medieval only. Other countries made and used armour during the "medieval period" and the current name does not exclude them from being listed also. As I stated Japan made armour during the medieval period and someone could easily justify including Japanese armour in the list, and how about Persian armour made during the medieval period? The name as it is now does not preclude anyone from adding any armour from any culture that happened to be made during the "medieval period", and what about the armours made in the post medieval period?.

This is not about changing the spelling of anything, this is about changing the contents from just "medieval" armour to a more inclusive name which encompasses armour made after the medieval period, as it is now is there any one here who is expert enough to know the difference between an armour made in the medieval period and an armour made after the medieval period? What time period is the medieval period? Can you distinguish between medieval armour and armour made in the 1500 as an example?

on the other hand, why is it even here?
(instead of, for example
/info/en/?search=Components_of_Japanese_Armour ?)
-edit-
/info/en/?search=Japanese_armour
(but that just proves my point, we don't have a little section of european analogues tucked away in the corner of that page (and certainly not a bulky chsrt with pics taking up as much space with a tangent as the main article), nor do we have a section on anything else on this page
/info/en/?search=Category:Body_armor (at least a listing of modern armors that may have grown out of the actual european stuff would be somewhat relevant) no indian or roman armor sub chart on either page for instance— Preceding
