Thanks for your input. If we include all islands this will become a long,.. very long list. Do you really think we should list the 1200 islands of the adreatic, the 900 (larger ones..) islands in the Aegean etc? As I have a full list of them here (somewhere...) (did four months of research in the region this year) I should be able to just dump it here, though that would not be of much use.
I suggest we make a choice between;
a) only including "larger" / important islands. Larger is a very vague term though, don't know how to define it. Or;
b) do include all islands, but with a system of subpages (per country and also per bio-geographic region).
Aside of all this it should be limited to the Mediterranean, and not including islands in other regions with mediterranean climates. Can be an interesting addition to wikipedia. Will take some effort to do it properly though :-) --

No, it makes good sense to include islands with a significant size and population and possibly some that are of strategic or historical importance for some reason or other. Are you a geographer in some way, like me? Check out the
List of islands! I have done research on (and in)
New Caledonia plus other
islands,
peninsulas,
archipelagos and
island arcs. =}
So we agree. This actually means that nothing will change to the current list ;-) If I have time I will see if I can include some more islands. Interesting links, already browsed most of them though :-) Nope, not a geographer. I'm an "environmental manager", geography is just a small part of that. I find islands interesting thingies; not mainly because of the islands themself, but because of the stories; economical and environmental as
Rockall or political like
Cyprus :-) --

Pepijn Koster, in Case you decide to add your list of Mediterranean islands to this list, don't forget the
List of islands by name where already several islands in the Mediterranean were included. I'd be glad to help.

I suggest moving the pictures out of the table off to the side.
I also suggest removing the "Capital" column for lack of relevance. A better column would be population density and/or island group.
