Sareh Nouri is US luxury bridal designer. She was born in Iran and move to the US as a girl. She started her bridal company and operates in the US.
I think there should be a list for houses too. I sorted the list of designers alphabetically, please do edit if you disagree. -- Unnamed
Not happy at all. My parents are going phsyco as none of the links for the australian fashion designers work and i cannot get any information, therefore i cannot do my project. Can this please be remedied?

Assuming that this is a list of high end fashion houses and designers I'll assume that this excludes mainstream high street. Sorry, but Jane Norman, French Connection and Ted Baker are NOT fashion designer, nor are they high end fashion houses, they are chains of high street fashion shops based in the UK - I'm deleting them from the list. Violetbeau ( talk) 23:39, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
...and now I'll add Gok Wan to the list! Violetbeau ( talk) 22:42, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Hello! I just created my first main page for fashion designer Yoon Ahn and I was wondering if someone could give me feedback! I am still in the process of cutting down some redundancy but would love to hear any advice. Also, I wanted to include her in the list of fashion designers but I'm stuck between South Korea and Japan--she is a Korean-American designer but her fashion history is deeply rooted in Japan. Please let me know! Crohbar ( talk) 20:12, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
Unless there are objections, I think all redlinks should be removed. Clubmarx ( talk) 16:11, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
The reason I ask, is that I think this list is now redundant when the category pages serve the same purpose. For example, there are categories for Argentinan/Australian/Austrian/Bahrani fashion designers and presumably equivalent categories for all the other countries.
I glanced at Category:Australian fashion designers and counted 46 names on there, and there are only 25 on this page in the equivalent section. I think that to list ALL the fashion designers on Wikipedia who have an article is going to be an impossible task to maintain. If there are 21 Australian designers missing from the list, how many hundreds of American designers are missing?
Would it make sense to link directly to the relevant category under each section, as most people creating new articles for designers know to add a category, but probably don't know this page exists? I've been creating fashion designer articles for years and I don't think a single one of my designer articles is listed on here... am gonna try and fix that now. She seems to have been born in Romania indeed [1], but studied fashion in Vienna and then moved to the Netherlands (at age 19) before going to the US. (She was also Jewish and was imprisoned in a concentration camp.) It's rather silly to call her a Romanian fashion designer; I don't see evidence she was ever active in Romania in that capacity. And she became a US citizen. Someone not using his real name ( talk) 18:58, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
If the issue is notability then what needs to happen on this page is some sort of reference because it is hard to say what is notable. Are these designers that exist in a specific country, or designer brands that exist in a specific country? -- Inayity ( talk) 15:21, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
This is just a thread to quickly record some of the names who, arguably, belong elsewhere on the list other than their place of birth. I know I established the place-of-birth rule, as a very simple and easy-to-understand rule, but I can see how it leads to arguments and controversy. The Manish Malhotra edits are a case in point. Each name should only appear ONCE on the list, so this is to determine (by consensus) where they belong. Some people identify strongly with their place of birth, regardless of where they were based; others - such as Jean Muir, who was very proud of being Scottish (although English-born) - are explicitly identified with their nationality even if born elsewhere.
While a small fraction of the potential shifts, these are four of the most obvious and (in my view) least controversial suggested shifts. Please add further names for consideration in the replies.
And yes, this was inspired by a recent attempted move of Mary Quant to Wales - given that Quant was not only born in London, but was also pretty firmly based there professionally, and is considered the poster girl of the 60s London young fashion scene, it seems a no-brainer to keep her under England. Hello, please move Sareh Nouri to designers in the US. She was born in Iran but has lived in the US since she was a child. She started her bridal company and still operates in the US. — Preceding

So what's the criteria for inclusion on this list? Do people have to have had a runway show? Because it seems that almost every rapper has his/her name on the list. It's hard for me to imagine Jay-Z designing any clothes himself. I feel like he probably just overlooked the business side of things. I haven't looked into this however and I feel maybe non-obvious designers should have a reference or something. Also if Jay-Z, Pharrell, Wu-Tang Clan, etc. are added then every designer from every tiny fashion label such as H&M, Target, Threadless, etc. should be added in my opinion.
Marie Madeleine Duchapt should be included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.35.237.251 ( talk) 10:53, 14 August 2019 (UTC)

Remove the "Samata Pattinson" entry from "Ghana". There already exists a "Samata" entry under the "United Kingdom". According to her article, Samata Pattinson was born in Britain and thus her nationality should be "United Kingdom" and not "Ghana". 66.219.195.154 ( talk) 03:34, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
