Aquagenic Urticaria is an extremely rare condition however more and more cases are being known. I've included case reports where patients not only experience external itching on contact with water, but also experience swelling of the lips, mouth and throat in severe cases of the condition. In extreme cases, it can cause anaphylaxis.

Hi! I'm new to editing on Wikipedia. Wondering if wool (lanolin) and leather should be added as allergen? And if this source is appropriate ( https://allergykb.org/lanolin-allergy/
AND https://allergykb.org/leather-allergy/)?

So what is the point of this page. -- Doc James ( talk · contribs · email) 06:08, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
...seems pointless. For any true allergy, if someone's having a severe IgE-mediated reaction, then they should receive epinephrine; likewise, allergies can generally be managed by avoidance of the allergen. In many cases, antihistamines can be helpful - and above all, WP is not a treatment manual. There is no clear basis for the data that are/aren't included in the column currently. So, what's the point of that column (yes, some would question the existence of this page, but that's been discussed recently and I don't want to go there). -- Scray ( talk) 20:06, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
Respiratory depression is a symptom of an opioid overdose—not an allergic reaction. It occurs with all opioids (not just codiene) and it is more dangerous with more potent ones, like morphine, heroin, and fentanyl. Both allergic reactions and overdoses are serious, even potentially fatal, but they are different hazards. Donfbreed ( talk) 21:56, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
I'm considering nominating this article for deletion. The information is pretty much useless and the talk page is nothing but complaints and corrections. It is also inaccurate, since many of the items described in this list are sensitivities and not true allergies. And since it's possible to be allergic, or at least "sensitive," to almost everything, having such a list is not especially useful. Any objections? Thoughts? MYCETEAE - talk 02:25, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
I was thinking that the article could use more citations. i.e. It seems a bit strange to a non-allergy-expert like myself that MSG, Red 40, Aspartame are grouped together but, if I could follow a link to a study or an article, it might seem less strange.
In general, I feel that all reactions and remarks should be tagged with good citations. What do you all think?

Balsam of Peru, a top-five allergen in patch tests, would seem to belong to this list. But it would fit in more than one category. Do any regular editors of this page have thoughts as to how best to reflect it? Thanks.-- Epeefleche ( talk) 09:21, 13 April 2014 (UTC)

Well, my main reason for writing is that celery and mustard should probably be included, since they are a labelling requirement in the EU.
But that got me thinking, are there any criteria for inclusion? If not, this list is effectively limitless. Do we want an unbridled list of allergens, or just a listing of common ones?
