Unlike some list pages, I think it would be more complete to list all crashes and not just crashes that have existing article pages. Shinerunner ( talk) 00:12, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
I can remember at least two fatal crashes of display aircraft at the RAF/USAF Mildenhall airshow in the late 70s/early 80s: I'm pretty sure one was a single aircraft from the Frecce Tricolori in about 1979, the other (circa 1984) was a single prop-driven USAF basic trainer aircraft. 66.134.170.155 ( talk) 17:22, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
The description of this crash in this article differs markedly from the account given at Frankfurt Airport#Incidents. In all probability the description given here is based on an (inaccurate) early news report and should be amended, but that's only a guess. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.1.62.101 ( talk) 17:25, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
The recent entry about Clanton's accident does not state that it occurred during an airshow. If it was while practising for an airshow it doesn't belong in this article. -- TraceyR ( talk) 19:19, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
I have just removed a couple of entries which describe accidents which occurred during practice for airshows. In view of the title of this article, these surely do not qualify for mention here. This is not a list of accidents related to airshows but of airshow accidents, i.e. on the day, during the airshow. -- TraceyR ( talk) 19:27, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
i.e.
I suggest that these be removed, since they do not satisfy the criterion for inclusion in this list. -- TraceyR ( talk) 10:12, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
I added that at the end of the Reno Air Races description. The incident did occur at the Air Racing event, not the airshow itself.
in view of above I guess 7 killed in rehearsal for airshow not worth adding?

To someone who likes to write, this accident I attended when I was 6yo. The one nearby I did not see, but apparently there was another in 1993 also in New Hampshire. In addition the the provided information, I know from later taking flight lessons at the airport that the accident was said to be due to the parachuter missing some of the scheduled meetings, so he jumped at the wrong time. The instructor also told me they would find limbs behind the hanger etc, but is extraneous details! http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-8237805.html 76.88.44.194 ( talk) 08:33, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
It seems counter-intuitive to have the years in reverse chronological order. Why not start at the beginning? -- TraceyR ( talk) 20:09, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
"*( Grande Prairie, Alberta) - Captain Gordon de Jong of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds died when the horizontal stabilizer failed, rendering the aircraft uncontrollable. Although ejection was initiated, it was not successful. citation needed" A photo was published in newspapers showing the ejection taking place about 10 feet above ground and not upright. Can't find a online version. AMCKen ( talk) 00:10, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Not sure why this 1991 air show crash isn't listed; the pilot died and a number of spectators were injured, some seriously. I remember being in the ER getting a broken hand set when ambulances came in with the wounded. Here's a link:

In the late 1950s or early '60s (possibly around the time South Africa became a republic - 1961), an F86 Sabre of the South African Air Force (SAAF) aerobatics team, the Silver Falcons, crashed into some houses in Forest Hill, Port Elizabeth, killing several people on the ground. The pilot ejected and landed safely in dense bush near the airport. The incident occured while the aerobatics team was rehearsing for an air display to be held on the following day. I was watching from the balcony of our flat and saw two planes "touch"; shortly thereafter one plummeted toward the ground, the pilot ejected, and a column of black smoke rose from the impact area. Does anyone else recall the accident or have more details?

On 20 or 21 May 1957, SNCASO SO-9050 Trident II F-ZWTT crashed at the Paris Air Show, killing pilot Charles Goujon. The French language site where I got this information is no longer available, but Wikipedia shows it as well, [1]

To whoever is maintaining this page, please note that some descriptions are incomplete (cut mid-sentence) in the 2012 section. 93.97.33.17 ( talk) 18:05, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
Do military air shows count? If so, then a notable omission would be 1994_Fairchild_Air_Force_Base_B-52_crash. Boardhead ( talk) 18:56, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Just a reminder that previous consensus is that this is a list of accidents and incidents at airshows, recent additions do not meet the criteria as they were not actually at an airshow. If you need clarification then please ask, thanks. MilborneOne ( talk) 20:20, 12 June 2016 (UTC)

I've been thinking that it may be time to split this article due to the current size. The new page names, unless someone suggests a better alternative, could be these.
