I'm hesitated to use the similar format as Russian Wikipedia's version because loading every single picture for each station can cause some trouble to readers with low/limited internet connection (while you can load all of the images successfully doesn't mean the other won't have the trouble). Also
Wikipedia is not a mirror or a repository of links, images, or media files. Adding image requires sufficient encyclopedic value to justify the usage. It would be acceptable to do so in
Wikivoyage, but reader's internet connection is still the concern. --

I do not think this is such a problem (may be it is better to limit images to 100px though), but a bigger problem is that currently all images of St Petersburg subway stations do not comply with the Freedom of panorama and technically are copyright violations.--

How long you discussed with others your large edits in the same (featured btw) list in Russian-language section? I did'nt see a problem there. Dialup connection dies everywhere. It's not a big problem for the rest (~3kb per image - it's funny anyway). So why we have to send everybody to Commons with it's problems of Freedom of panorama, as Yaroslav noticed? Some of the images you have rollback I've uploaded directly to EnWiki. Think again. --
