WTF? She was in The Beautician and the Beast, which proves she hasn't shut herself up anywhere. This is just a bad article and it needs to be rewritten.

k, now it has been rewritten and will be on my watch list.

Beautician and the beast was released in 1997! Can we say she's dropped off the face of the earth now, fifteen years later? Mar 20, 2012 — Preceding

Where is she now?
IMDB suggests she hasn't done much of the kind of work that would appear on its radar for the last decade. What is she doing now? Second question: Mrs Doubtfire's popularity has held up, so does she still get royalties when it's shown on TV somewhere around the world, or whatever, or is this not how acting jobs work?

This is now more or less resolved by the reference to her having left the acting profession and published a book. The question about royalties I am still curious about.
