Many Belgian and Dutch publishers consolidated. Having short articles that are not well updated, I believe we should follow suit.

gidonb, thanks for the note. I totally disagree but unfortunately I can't make a very strong argument given the poor state of our article--and the Dutch article isn't any better. I do NOT believe that it should be merged simply because Lannoo now owns it; I wish I had the time, and more sources like
this one, to make that argument stick.

Drmies: Then how about the following compromise. I can change the J.M. Meulenhoff article into the biography of Johannes Marius Meulenhoff that never becomes outdated, while moving the main discussion of the business to
Lannoo. In the process I would take care of title changes and redirecting as needed.

gidonb, that's not much of a compromise, since it puts the burden on you--but I really appreciate it. I think also that's a good solution to the problem of person vs. company, and I thank you for it.
