The phrase "you don't want to know" is incompatible with the concept of an "encyclopedia"

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Statements like this, while colorful, really don't help people get information about something. I don't know the setting well enough to describe the Gods of Lankhmar authoritatively, but someone who is really should fix this. --

The article states: The city is ostensibly ruled by an Overlord and a nobility, but the true power is held by the Thieves' Guild, and in this sense the city could reasonably be called a cleptocracy. Is there any quote that supports that view. The Thieves' Guild is powerful, but the political power is in the hands of the Overlord. They go along well. --
