Parentage of the Lambrusco grape
Depending on how old the Lambrusco varietal is, it may be hard to say, but is anything known about where/which varieties the lambrusco grape is derived from. Specifically, is there any relation to the grape species
Vitis labrusca? -- 19:19, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
surely not. The scientific names are relatively recent, so maybe the name of Vitis labrusca derives from Lambrusco, but surely not the contrary. BTW the
Partula labrusca could hit that labrusca has some meaning in Latin.

lambrusco did not become "hugely popular"
Riunite brand, incredibly cheap, sweet sparkling wine became a super popular casual drink, advertised and sold by that brand, not as "lambrusco", sort of a Bartles and James type thing, not exactly a wine phenomenon at all. — Preceding

You got it wrong sorry
Lambrusco is not a variety of grape, but a kind of wine, it may be done with a variety of grapes but the "lambrusco" strain of grape does not exist.
