Hello to all who are interested in Lake George. My family has a long history on the lake and feel much kinship with it. For such a small lake, we believe there is a lot of history to be told. I've begun compiling information and building this wikipedia entry, but I need your help if we are to truly capture the lake's history.
As part of this process, I'd really like to capture the primary source material that I know is out there. This material includes oral histories, documentation about the lake, etc. Please feel free to leave me messages on my Talk Page or by emailing to the Lake George listserv on Yahoo Groups.
Interesting topics for which I have almost no documentation include:

A Google search turned up this link to a George Arbuckle of about the right age to be a surveyor. The email address for the site's owner bounced. http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/b/r/o/RON-A-BROOKS/GENE3-0001.html
It would be interesting to see if we could track down this Surveyor and link it in more closely. Theflyer 00:00, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Questions to be answered:
I read an article in the USAToday (3/10/06) about the mob. It referrenced a mob historian by the name of Selwyn Raab; maybe he can help specificity to the statements that the Chicago mob used to come to the lake.
Moved these pictures from the article for storage. -- NormanEinstein 01:22, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
