Blood in Red Wine
The article states that wine does not normally contain any "forbidden foods," but it is my understanding that red wine generally contains animal product, if no longer blood. Comments? —Preceding

Halakhic references
I tagged this article as "needs additional citations for verification", because it has no references to actual halakhic sources about kosher wine. Jewfaq is not a bad website, but its author admits to not being an expert. The Jpost and other online sources also don't have any direct reference to books of Halakha. --

Acting on a request at
WP:Judaism, I came here to have a look at the issue. I fail to see why a woman could not make kosher wine. The laws of ritual purity have nothing to do with the laws of kashrut.

Chabad writes "The production and handling of kosher wine must be done exclusively by Jews. Wine, grape juice, and all products containing wine or grape juice must remain solely in Jewish hands during the manufacturing process and also after the seal of the bottle has been opened."

And such is the
halakha. There is no reason a Jewish woman couldn't take part in the process of wine making. In ancient times there might have been reasons of ritual purity, which is why I added above that those are not relevant. I guess there might also be a question if a woman could be a kashrut supervisor, but that is not the issue here.

It's by far the most common Kosher wine these days, including all the high quality wines. I don't know enough to say where it fits between mevushal and the conservative-Jewish rules. But it's a wide segment of the market. — Preceding

Why would that need a separate sub-section? That is the default of kosher wine, which has the whole "Requirements for being kosher" section.
