Peer Review
The article has a lot of good data and gives good history of the site. I really like the hyperlinks to various terms and the in-depth descriptions of the various reasons for the loss of endemic species in the area.
In the first sentence I would explain why the Kitumbako Swamps are usually inaccessible to humans. If this information is available, I would also include the time period of artifacts that we are looking at to help orient the reader. I would also add a section explaining what the findings are and what the significance of the various findings is.
Overall, you did a great job on this draft! I would suggest making it explicitly clear in the first couple of sentences of the “Paleoenvironmental/Paleoecological Investigations” exactly what people are interested in looking at in this area – human artifacts? Ecofacts? I think this will strengthen the overall paper.
I liked how you included hyperlinks of various terms so that people who are unfamiliar with the word can easily become educated – I am definitely interested in adding this to my article! I also liked how you explained the various possibilities for species loss and did not just talk about one reason.
