Kaibil B'alam →
Kayb'il B'alam — If this person's name is to reflect the standardised orthography for Mayan languages (per ALMG), then Kayb'il B'alam would be the more accurate rendition. In this orthography <b> should always be <b'>, and Mayan languages in general do not have CV1V2 syllables. The current title is a mix of orthographical conventions.

Although the correct orthogaraphy may be "Kayb'il B'alam" more people are familar with its original spelling "Kaibil Balam". Specifically those from
Guatemala. The spelling of "Kaibil Balam" is much more common than the other- I have yet to find any books or websources with the "Kayb'il B'alam" spelling.—The preceding
