Why does someone keep taking down the update of this page? "Material was added by a blocked editor." I am not a blocked editor and I added the material.

Hi! I guess we have two concerns. The earlier edit that you were putting back was from someone we believe to be hired to do the work, and they were believed to be an indefinitly blocked editor. By putting it back you can be seen as acting on behalf of that editor. Because that editor was blocked, Wikipedia's policies prevent us for accepting content written by them. In addition, both yourself and the blocked editer have a conflict of interest. So based on Wikipedia's
conflict of interest guidelines, neither person should be directly editing the article. Instead you are asked to propose changes here. To bring awareness to your proposed changes you can add the {{edit COI}} template to the top of any requests, as that will allow other editors to know that you have requested a change, and will be more likely to bring them to someone's attention. -

So if I understand correctly - the material that I am trying to post is never, ever going to be allowed on Wikipedia because it was originally posted by a blocked editor. If the Karma Automotive page is to be updated, it has to be from scratch. Is that right?
Regarding conflict of interest: This is a page about a car company. Are you saying that nobody who works for that car company is allowed to edit it? I don't work for that company and I'm not being paid by that company to do this work. I'm doing it because a golfing buddy of mine works there and he told me his frustrations at trying to get the page updated. Yes he hired someone, who turned out to be blocked. But now that work is completely gone forever and he's not allowed to try again, and anybody who knows him is not allowed to update the page because they know a guy who works there? -

Hi. I don't think you understand it correctly. What I am saying is that Wikipedia does not allow banned or blocked edits to add material to articles. In this case, a indefinitly blocked paid editor was hired, and not only did that editor evade their block to post the material, they also failed to meet the Terms of Use by acknowledging that they were being paid. Under those circumstances, we would not normally accept any changes they made, and I don't think that it would be particularly controversial. Having another person then simply add their material back after it was removed does not fix the problem.
Hopwever, that doesn't mean that the article can't be changed - just that you cannot simply add back the blocked editor's content. Instead, if you could propose individual changes here, there is nothing stopping an uninvolved editor from agreeing to and making those changes. -

Proposed Changes to Infobox
This
edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.
Specific text to be added or removed:
−
location = [[Irvine, California]]
+
location = [[Irvine, California]]<br>[[Moreno Valley, California]] (Manufacturing)
N The requested link to
GTS was not added because that link is to a disambiguation page.
N The factory location was not added because that information is not pertinent to the |headquarters= parameter (there is no such |location= parameter in the infobox).
Thank you
Spintendo! I'm going to submit another COI template with some more changes to this page. Maybe you'll help with those too.
I don't have a true conflict of interest. My brother works for Karma and I volunteered to help him update his company's page. But I am not being reimbursed in any way, and I don't really care about Karma the company. I'm just helping my brother. Is that a COI? Another editor here told me I had a COI and to follow the process.
