For "Warner":
Michael Newton, An Encyclopedia of Modern Serial Killers. This wasn't cited in the article but was an obvious source, and unfortunately it became the title of the article.

While fixing a minor typo (locator, not "locater"), I checked CDCR's inmate locator to verify if Warner (Werner?) is still in CMF. Checking both spellings, no such inmate could be found. Did he die in prison? They seem to be pretty good at removing deceased prisoners from the locator---I tested with the recently-deceased Charles Manson, and he's no longer listed.

I recently came across an
obituary for him (same birth date, name), but could not find any corroborating news sources. I also did an inmate locator search and found him to be missing. I didn't want to update the article, however, since I'm unsure about the credibility of the obit.
