It is anachronistic to refer to her method as "distant reading," since this method was not formally defined when she was writing, and has distinct institutional and political origins from her own scholarly methods (we would not, for instance, edit a Wikipedia page about corpus linguistics to call it "distant reading"). I understand that this terminology was based on a Modernism/Modernity article that argues for her importance in the pre-history of the current "distant reading" crazy. If someone finds this important enough to include in her Wikipedia article, then I invite them to write a section about it. But, as it stands, it is inaccurate to refer to her method as distant reading. — Preceding
