While finding references to source and expand this article, I came across this 1992 article from The Dallas Morning News about the early-1990s revitalization of Deep Ellum that says, in part, "One of the penthouses with a terrace and wraparound windows for a 360-degree view is soon to be the home of mystery writer John Steakley." A motivated editor could make this quite an interesting article if they can expand on Steakley's life and work. - Dravecky ( talk) 06:15, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
