They should be merged. The second is the longer and
User:Shtove has done most of the work on it. As I have only made a very small contribution so far I will stand back for the moment in case one of the major contributers feels inclined to make the merge. It does not seem to me to matter which way the merge is done. Obviously this will leave one article to become just a redirect to the other.
I will place this note on the talk pages of both articles.
I hope anyone entering a search will come to the information I've posted, regardless of the title. Is there any
User:Wetman information that isn't already covered? If not, redirect is OK, Norris (soldier) to Norreys, or vv.--

We'll leave it to you to follow the lead of DNB, whatever that is. Editing at the better title, try pasting the short version at the bottom of the longer one for easier comparisons, inserting and deleting bits as you go. There might be a few better presentations in the shorter article. Maybe not. --11:59, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
I have written a
note on what I found in the ODNB (2004). Next week I will try and look at the older edition of DNB and also Nolan's biography which uses Norreys. I am beginning to favour Norreys over Norris.
