Does anyone know anything about this guy's education - school, university ?

I reinstated the previous text. Calling Leggett a zealot may be slightly intemperate but mild in comparison to his Guardian blog. He says in the latest " I hope that Mykura's poisonous DVD goes unwatched, and Crichton's toxic novel goes unread. They won't, of course. They will play their part in delaying humankind's survival reflex, perhaps until it is too late.". Children have been smacked for considerably less.

There are no misspellings in my contribution. There was one double 'ed' miss type - is that what you mean ? It must be. Yes I was in a mad rush. The first versions were typed in anger, yes but also in haste to avoid wasting time on such a topic. Apologies for that. I have updated the language again.
There are no characterisations (now) either, only a paraphrased (for coypyright reasons) version of his blog in a world famous newspaper. It is very valid and common for wiki entries to detail the opinions of their subject if they operate in the political arena which this character does.
My interest is this. Dr Leggett is one of a number of current and former senior oil people (Colin Campbell in particular) promoting conspiracy theories about 'peak oil' which serves only to drive up the price (it seems to me that with prices at current levels, peak oil is a nonsense as there are enormous fields which are now economically recoverable) . In addition he strongly advocates AGW theory (stopping only a little short of book burning) which again promotes the idea that high oil prices are a good thing. As we know he sells (governmnent subsidised) solar panels.
I am interested in his education because more or less all the British environmental commentariat are from public school, upper class backgrounds and are from the political right (Monbiot's father was vice chairman of the Conservative Party) as the Green movement has traditionally been. I don't mean the free market right obviously. He has a phd in Earth sciences from Oxford University.

Should we add of list of his books? Never seen an author without a (selected) list of this books, even here books are in the text. Many thanks for assessment.-- F.Blaubiget ( talk) 11:35, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
