The article incorrectly indicates that James L. Stone passed away. I personally met him last month. Here is a link with a recent photo and more information about James L. Stone

We now have Yahoo News, but I'll search a main-line news source:

It seems the same article has been copied by a local TV station in SC where he lived
http://www.abcnews4.com/story/20055737/medal-of-honor-recipient-james-l-stone-passes-away-at-89. Although the Congressional Medal of Honor Society is quoted, nothing is posted on their website yet. So I'll wait before I edit more.

The citation mentions that 6 were captured with him. Of those, how many survived POW camp and how many from the group that ex-filed prior to being overrun made it? Since he was 1lt was it a heavy platoon or just a regular 27-36 man platoon?
