This admiral from the privateering Dunkirk Squadron (Flanders Auxiliary Fleet, Spaniard Netherlands) was known in Spanish as "Jaques Colarte" or "Collarte". I'm afraid many Spanish-speaking people is gonna get lost when trying to find this article. Collaart the Elder died from a disease at Corunna (Galicia)about 1638. I'll try to provide further information from Spaniard sources. —Preceding

Decease: 1637 at Corunna (Galicia), from burning-fever. Aka Jacques Colart. The Galician (& Andalusian &Chilean)surname Colarte seems to derive from Collaart. —Preceding

If you could let me know the source, I'd be happy to incorporate what you've turned up into the article. (I'm assuming it's shyness about writing in a foreign language that has kept you to the talk page rather than
boldly adding the information yourself - it's just what I tend to do on French wikipedia.) --

"Enciclopedia General del Mar", 4th edition (Garriga, Barcelona , 1998)
R.A. STRADLING: "The Armada of Flanders: Spanish Maritime Police & European War" (1992), page 101. According to Stradling Colart died in August of 1637. And I have no intention of editing the main article. It´s not shyness. Just respect. Excerpts from Stradling: "The plan for 1637 was for Colaert to sail from La Coruña, escorting the transports of infantry reinforcements [bound for Flanders]. In August [of 1637], the death of Colaert further increased anxiety [at the Court in Madrid]" —Preceding

An actual portrait of Jacques Colart/Jacob Collaert?
