[1] states that he studied law at North Christian University (which I can find no material about) but never practiced; however, his Sporting News obit stated that he studied law at
Northwestern University and indeed practiced for a number of years intermittently. I'm not going to guess at which school is correct, but to be on the safe side I've deleted the comment about his never practicing.

On a related note, I edited the part saying he was one of only a few managers to hold a law degree, to be "hold a law degree or pass a state bar," as Hughie Jennings is actually a law school drop out and does not hold the degree.
