I've filed a
Good Article review over this article, no comment was given on the talk page, and like
Charizard, the edit summary does not explain how usage of guidebook type references causes this article to not even be marginally well-referenced.

Does it matter? The fact remains that there's unnecessary fluff throughout the article (for instance, stating what he's strong and weak against is guide content). And of course, guide content - what use is it to a non-fan that Bulbasaur is good versus the first four gym leaders? There is a review - it has too much information, it's going to become merged, and his name origin is completely unreferenced. -
