the diagram is incorrect - it contains an unnecessary restriction digest post-loop formation. PCR can be carried out on circular DNA!!!
as a scientist who not only does pcr, but was possibly the 1st person at MIT to do pcr, this article is worse then useless, imo - and I know how to talk to non scientists. scrap it and start over The essential point is that one starts with a circular piece of DNA and converts that to a linear with the primers at the end; from that you can talk about uses etc — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.195.10.169 ( talk) 20:52, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
