Should there be separate pages for these or is it possible to merge them in one way or another since they all deal with a similar subject? My proposal is to gather them all under intergenerational ethics since justice and fairness in general falls under the umbrella of ethics. Raybrower 13:15, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
The current page fails to convey the importance of future generations in this field. Rather it focuses on the currently living generations (youth, adults, seniors) whereas generations yet to come get no mention. Raybrower 13:15, 24 September 2007 (UTC) I agree - in Australia intergenerational equity is most commonly used to contrast the consumption of people alive with those yet to be born. Often interests of children yet to have influence over public opinion are included with the generation yet to be born - and the guilt of intergenerational equity concerns a burden placed on everyone alive with the abilty to influence public opinion. Moved the sentence from the article (below) here so we can discuss how to talk about the concept of intergenerational ethics (moral philosophy?) in relationship to Intergenerational Equity (economics/politics?), creating either a section for Intergenerational Ethics here or a new article.
Intergenerational ethics explores what moral obligations present generations might have towards future generations. [1] Superb Owl ( talk) 01:06, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
