Please could add somebody a picture or a painting of the prinzipe or a model? -- 138.89.56.7 13:10, 12 May 2006 (UTC) Dieter
I've worked in industries that used parts called impellers in sensor set ups. This may have been a case of them calling a part by a name that should have been something else as far as linguists are concerned. Nevertheless, it is quite common and I think we need to revise the first sentence of this article accordingly. Alternatively we should at least add an "other uses" paragraph. 71.236.24.129 ( talk) 04:29, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
The picture of a runner for a turbine at a dam is inappropriate. It's a runner, not an impeller. Force is transmitted by the water to the axle in a turbine, as opposed to vice-versa in a pump. Leofric1 ( talk) 07:24, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Anyone knows the difference between square and steep pitch (super pitch)? -- rolandog ( talk) 17:25, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Would someone knowledgeable please include information on the lily impeller invented by Jay Harmon? (fotoguzzi) 76.105.160.69 ( talk) 23:30, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Is it notable? Is there anything special about that shape (except looking pretty)? If not it should not be included. 78.82.232.101 ( talk) 15:29, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
I deleted the section describing how they "replaced the axial compressor on X turboprop with an impeller", because an axial compressor IS an impeller! What he means is that they replaced the axial type of compressor with a centrifugal compressor. They are BOTH impellers, so what difference does it make if they replaced one with the other? Author probably read somewhere how they "used a centrifugal impeller" in the new engine, and got confused, thinking that must mean that it's an impeller, unlike an axial compressor. But its not; they are both impellers, and thus the whole section has no relevance, as well as being misleading to people. .45Colt 10:14, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Is not the following contradicting information? Please could someone with relevant knowledge look at this: First sentence of wiki page: "An impeller or impellor[1] [...] is the opposite of a turbine [...]." vs Section In agitated tanks: "Impellers can be further classified [...] into [...] sub-types: [...] Turbines" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.151.132.6 ( talk) 16:11, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
