Both the Equus and Proudia were concurrently developed. It's not that one is based on the other. Equus debuted first in S. Korea in May 1999. Proudia followed in Dec. 1999.
This article, specifically the "Features" section is written like an advertisement. In my opinion, it needs serious cleaning up. Added advert banner. -- Protolink24 ( talk) 21:05, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Most of this article sounds like an advertisement, as if it was written by someone at Hyundai. There doesn't appear to be any negative comments or critical reviews associated with the vehicle, and this car has been sighted for not having appeal in US markets for it being over-priced for the branding that Hyundai has in the US. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.209.9.230 ( talk) 18:36, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
The Equus is RWD. The page that is referenced to show it's FWD says no such thing.
It SHOWS it. Transversely mounted engine, with drive axles going to the front wheels. References to a RWD equus are probably coming from speculation about its replacement, which was thought to be the Hyundai Genesis concept. (It may or may not be replacing the Equus)

I can't tell from reading the article how the two cars compare. It's not clear, can anyone clarify it. NativeForeigner Talk/ Contribs 04:56, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
Under second generation, there is a table comparing the Equus to two rivals. The "fuel economy" row is a catastrophe. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.138.82.223 ( talk) 13:52, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Update, I went to the press release, and the 3rd value is for combined, although it's still impossible to read. The table should probably be deleted, with only a sentence or two stating that Hyundai is trying to compete with BMW, Mercedes, etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.138.82.223 ( talk) 14:06, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
"A long-wheelbase limousine model was available exclusively for the Korean domestic market, and at 92,510,000 South Korean won for the 2008 model with a V8 and no options, was the most expensive model in the company's lineup. "
Huh? This makes no sense. 92 million what? How is that a win? What on earth is this article talking about?
cheers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.117.210.99 ( talk) 16:15, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
The won is the South Korean currency. While not totally clear the sentence is not that bad. — Preceding

I am currently in Seoul, and have seen Equus that have a Genesis rather than a Hyundai branding, like the Hyundai Genesis. Can anyone clarify that? -- 58.75.193.228 ( talk) 08:16, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
There are multiple grammar errors in the section for the second-generation Equus. Please correct them whenever you spot them. Thank you.

Is the first generation longitudinal? the engine, like the Mitsu, is transverse. 5.129.244.233 ( talk) 15:32, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
