"Hugi was always discussed (as every diskmag) because it explains the demoscene "underground" to beginners. This was intended. No "scene" can live without novices." Isn't the last sentence a bit out of place? I suppose general statements don't belong here. Actually the whole paragraph seems weird to me. 80.108.37.108 14:58, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
To better demonstrate Hugi's notability, and help save the article from deletion, I'd suggest the following additions/changes:
- List references to Hugi from other sources. Where else has it been mentioned or promoted?
- List innovations and key contributions to the scene. The coding compo is an example, so that section could be expanded. How much impact has the diskmag had on the demoscene in general?
- How popular is it? Any idea on the number of readers per issue? Is it really known outside of the scene?
Feel free to use ideas from the Hornet Archive article. :) -- Vossanova o< 20:27, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Is the 'g' a soft or hard one? Is the "Hu" closer to 'hue' or 'hoo'? 24.85.180.193 ( talk) 13:30, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just modified one external link on Hugi. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:

"Hugi was one of the first diskmags that was released as a Windows executable (September 1998). Moreover, it was a dual DOS and Windows diskmag for 6 issues (September 1998 to August 1999). Both facts were strongly notable at this time and caused a lot of discussion." Afterwards it says "citation needed". It will be difficult to find a source that backs up this statement. To my knowledge, the discussion mentioned in the statement took place on IRC, not in an online forum (the web-based forums that are popular with the demoscene nowadays did not exist yet). There are no public archives of demoscene IRC channels. I wonder whether it would be safe to just remove the sentence "Both facts were strongly notable at this time and caused a lot of discussion".
