Rev. Peter S. Kucer, M.S.A. 2
Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Directors 3
Very Rev. Martin Rooney, M.S.A.

Updated History
After its founding, Fr. Menard entrusted the College & Seminary to the
Missionaries of the Holy Apostles.
4
Driven by its mission to cultivate Catholic leaders for evangelization, Holy Apostles welcomed its first non-seminarian students in 1972. 5 In 1978, Holy Apostles College and Seminary was granted permission to operate as a major seminary, offering the Master of Divinity. 6
Understanding the important role laity fulfills in ministry within the Church, graduate degree programs were offered beginning in 1982. As one of the front runners in distance education, the college opened its distance graduate-level programs (later becoming 100% online) to people all over the world. The online programs continued to grow with new offerings of post-masters certificates and graduate certificate programs. 7
In 2012, recognizing the growing need for online undergraduate programs Holy Apostles added undergraduate-level programs. In 2014, the State of Connecticut Office of Higher Education approved the college for a 100% online undergraduate program (both in the Associate of Arts and the Bachelor of Arts degree programs). There are now 8 undergraduate programs (Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Arts) as well as the Take Credit! Program for high school juniors and seniors. 8
Updated Academics
The college and seminary are accredited by the
Connecticut Board of Regents for Higher Education, and the
New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE).
9 In June 2017, Holy Apostles received accreditation from the
Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools (ATS). All degrees are recognized by NECHE and the
State of Connecticut.
The institution emphasizes the academic disciplines of philosophy and theology in the context of the Catholic honors liberal arts curriculum.
The Cardinal Newman Society ranked it as one of the 21 top Catholic colleges and universities in The Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College. It has been part of the Newman Guide since its first edition in 2007. 10 Jmurphy33 ( talk) 15:56, 10 March 2023 (UTC)
