Isanapura suffix -pura means fortified city, and the first part clearly comes from the first part of name of its supposed founder, Isanavarman I. There's no cite for the translation of "Isana" as "invisible power," and even less that it has anything to do with "Isan," which is from Sanskrit/Pali for northeast, as Payap is for northwest.
