Brutalism?
I'm having a helluva time finding good sources going into detail on the Brutalist design - I can ask some people when I stay there in the near future, but I know anecdotes and word of mouth don't work as references, so that is only useful to guide research in the right direction. If anyone knows books hidden in Google, that might help?

I just looked for abuot half an hour trying to find any connection online between "San Francisco Hilton" or "Hilton San Francisco Union Square" with "brutalist" or "brutalism," and could only find forums. All I can think is that maybe there is some coverage in old architectural magazines not online, I'm assuming the design was a big deal when it debuted in the 1970s.
