Very notable person. Awarded a prestigious medal in 1950. Again in the news years later. Stephanie Bowman ( talk) 04:03, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
The Yad Vashem award was first introduced by the State of Israel in 1953. The 2012 database of Yad Vashem shows that only the mother of Henk Zanoli, Jacoba Johanna Zanoli - Smit has been awarded by Yad Vashem in 2011. [1] [2] This is confirmed by Yad Vashem in their response to Henk Zanoli's return of his mother's award in 2014 in Tabletmagazine. Contacted on Sunday, Yad Vashem said of Zanoli’s decision, “we are sorry for his loss, and regret his decision to return his mother’s medal. The survivor passed away as far as we know.” [3] -- Oosthoektimes ( talk) 07:44, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
