A certain receptor, AhR (aryl hydrocarbon receptor) and other transcription factors have, according to my sources, "a basic helix-loop-helix motif". I'd like to know if basic in this context means "elementary, simple, merely functional" or alkaline, the opposite of acidic. - Samulili 20:01, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
I think Winged helix turn helix should be merged with this page, to go in a separate section. This is one of many variants of the helix turn helix domain which is likely to have arisen from a single ancestor (see PMID:15808743) and this article should be expanded to encompass these. -- RE73 ( talk) 11:47, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
