Out of interest, where are his Lebanon under-20 stats coming from as I can't see any other mention of it other than here?
Done I also forgot where I found the statistics, then I remembered that I took them from Transfermarkt. I have removed them.

Lead
It's up to you if you want to keep a link to Lebanon in the lead as as argument could be made that's it's not particularly obvious so
WP:OVERLINK may not apply. However, if you are going to keep it, link Lebanese in the opening sentence rather than the mention in the second paragraph.
"as well as a Lebanese FA Cup", this could be expanded on. "as well as helping his side win the Lebanese FA Cup after defeating Olympic Beirut 2-1 in the final"?
"as well as being nominated Player of the Season" > as well as being nominated for the Player of the Season Award? Also, the source provided (15) doesn't seem to support this as it only shows awards he won during the 2009-10 season.
There are quite a few authors, publishing dates and accessdates that are missing here, ref 54 for example just states LebanonFG? What's that?
LebanonFG is a website (
lebanonfg.com). I have personal contacts with the author of the website, however he didn't mention that particular statistic on his website. Would simple citing the website be enough, or should it be removed completely?

A tidy article, nothing major just a few points to adjust. The references do need a tidy and there a couple of possibly questionable sources that need to be addressed. Placed on hold for now.

Kosack thanks for reviewing the article, I hugely appreciate it! Everything should be fixed, except the issue about "LebanonFG" and the missing info in some references.

There are still a few outstanding issues with the references. LebanonFG was only an example I picked out, there are numerous refs that have information missing that is readily available such as authors, publishing dates, etc. These need to be fleshed out to provide proper attribution.

Nehme1499: I've done another quick run through and some minor copyediting just to tidy some last loose ends. I think we're in much better shape than when we started now and I'm happy the article now meets the GA criteria. Promoting.

MJL: The problem is that "most expensive transferred player" would make it sound as if the club had payed $900,000 over three years to his previous club. The "record" is just related to the player's wage.

Narutolovehinata5: I’m not sure what aspects of his personal life could be considered notable or interesting. He has a wife and a child, but I know that from social media. Not sure what you would be looking for here.

Many biographies have a "Personal life" section which mentions basic information about their non-professional lives, such as family members or other aspects. The article didn't seem to have one when I checked, which is why I asked.
Narutolovehinata5tccsdnew00:23, 14 August 2019 (UTC)reply
Ah ok I see, I thought you had suggested using a fact from his personal life as an alternative hook for the nomination. I will add a “Personal life” section in case I were able to find something.

Thanks for the addition, although I think the wording could be improved a little bit. How about something like Maatouk and his wife Sahar have a daughter named Fatima.[78][77]?
Narutolovehinata5tccsdnew02:03, 23 August 2019 (UTC)reply
Almost ready go to: article was promoted to GA status on time, other DYK article criteria are met. No QPQ needed for first-time nominator. The first hook is probably the best option as it's probably his main claim to fame; the information is cited inline and verified. My suggestion on a personal life section has been addressed: @
Nehme1499: however, is there no other known information about his life, such as his childhood, education, or information about why he decided to pursue a career as a footballer?
Narutolovehinata5tccsdnew09:53, 1 September 2019 (UTC)reply
It’s pretty much impossible to find such information about a Lebanese footballer (without falling into OR). The only way I can find anything regarding his early years, education ecc... is for me to directly contact him (or someone in between) but that would mean that the phrase would be unsourced on wiki.

Obviously it would be a benefit to have as much information as possible but it's not a requirement for it. His notability comes from his career as a footballer which is detailed adequately. I'm AGF that the nominator conducted searches for as much information as possible given the chance of finding English language sources on this player are slim.

Just a detail, would it be preferred to wait for the player to reach 21 goals, and actually be the sole top-scorer of the national team? He is bound to score one goal sooner or later, so it would be better in my opinion to wait until he breaks the record to promote it to DYK.

Wikipedia isn't a crystal ball, so it's not really practical to wait for him to break the record before featuring him on the main page. He could break the record tomorrow, next month, or next year, so until that happens, it's for the best to go with the current wording.
Narutolovehinata5tccsdnew00:36, 2 September 2019 (UTC)reply
I'm not sure what this was waiting for, but as the GA reviewer has responded, and all three hooks (ALT0, ALT1 and ALT2) are stated in the article and directly cited (AGF on the source for ALT0), the hooks are approved. (I edited the article a little so it now says "With this goal Maatouk became Lebanon's joint top scorer, equaling Roda Antar's tally of 20 goals", making the 20 goals of ALT0 explicit.)
