I disagree that it would be incorrect to use the singular grind. I've definitely heard people use it, eg "I can't come this evening, I've got a maths grind"

Prevalence
I've removed the assertion that 40% of LC students pay €5k for grinds, which I find incredible, and is based on a reference to an unavailable Irish Times article. This also brings into question the entire prevalence section, but I'll let that stand even though it's now missing a citation
