I changed the picture on the top of the page with something I took myself last year. The older picture looks unnaturally squashed, and the licence it is under has not been revealed. I moved it to the middle of the article, but if another picture of that street corner can be taken... something laid out along the horizontal plane rather than the vertical, that'd be perfect for the top. -- Alexwcovington ( talk) 08:29, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)
I wasn't aware that the earlier pic looked squashed. I viewed the page on several different computers and it really never (and still doesn't) looked squashed to me. The older picture looks nice where you put it further into the article though. The only problem that I have with the new picture on top is that it is rather dark. The postcard is from my personal collection. I got the idea of adding a vintage postcard from the Minot entry. -- MatthewUND 20:06, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Should we take more pictures of local attractions? I think we should take a new one of City Hall and of Clifford Hall, which both look blue. I'll take this up if no one has any objections. -- Rick Abbott 01:29, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
I changed "settlement by white man" to "settlement by Europeans", as the term "white man" has become somewhat archaic and its use deprecated. -- Radarthreat 15:59, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I just removed the "Music scene" section that an anonymous user put in. The section was poorly executed, was POV, and we don't really need a list of obscure bands in this article. Please refer to Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. -- Matth e wUND( talk) 04:23, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
ok well, i got rid of the emo scene thing, since theres only 2-3 actual bands that are emo Frenrir1 00:11, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

What do the colors mean in the climate data box? I think we need some sort of color guide. Also, perhaps we could use slightly lighter colors. -- MatthewUND( talk) 07:23, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Congrats on the new-found the FA status! I didn't get a chance to say it in the FA review before the promoted it but I'd like to thank the editors for being so quick and thorough in the FA nomination process. Okiefromokla• talk 18:46, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
In my screen resolution there is a problem in the economy and history sections. In economy, the image aligned to the right toutches the demographics table and so there is blank space between the economy heading and the actual prose. Same in history, because the right-aligned picture is blocked by the city's infobox so there is a huge blank space. Is this a problem in your resolution? A lot of people do have my resolution so with their browsers it would loook awkward. Left-aligning the pictures would take care of this, though. But I wanted to see if you had something else in mind, like re arranging the pictures. Okiefromokla• talk 15:53, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
I know the new map shouldn't be as big as I had it, but do you think we could make it big enough so people could at least read the text without having to click on the map to get the larger version? Even just a little bigger than the current size would help, in my opinion. Since a map is a little different case than all of the other pics in the article, I don't think it would be so bad to have the map be at least a little bigger than the article's other pics. -- MatthewUND( talk) 00:20, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
I live in GF and would love to see something in the climate section mentioning how windy the city is, since that is a very noticable aspect of our climate here. I have no experience with editing wikipedia articles, so I figured that I would mention this and let you pros handle it. Also, we've had a record of maybe 8 blizzards in one year? Seems like that's another distinctive feature of our climate that deserves mention, as it sets us apart from other areas of the country.
If anyone would be willing to add this and the appropriate citations to the article, I would really appreciate it. Like I said, I am completely new to participating in Wikipedia, and I don't want to screw up the article format, etc. Thanks.

I'm a bit puzzled about the bicycle/pedestrian bridge situation in Grand Forks. The article states that there are two such bridges across the Red River, with a citation at http://www.grandforksgov.com/2005%20Bike%20Map.pdf which is sadly now a dead-link.
Looking at the picture at File:1997 Red River Flood Grand Forks.jpg, there appear to be several small bridges across the river in addition to the main Sorlie Bridge, which may be the pedestrian bridges. However, looking at the aerial view here: [1] there is no sign of the extra bridges. Neither are they in the updated bicycle map here: [2].
Have the bridges been demolished? Can anyone shed light on this? Thanks — SteveRwanda ( talk) 12:12, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
There was but one pedestrian bridge before the flood that I know of, which was the old downtown railroad bridge next to the DeMers Avenue bridge. It did get demolished because the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers felt it would serve as a kind of dam during a flood, holding back flood debris.
There are two new pedestrian bridges, one by the north end dam (north of Riverside Park) and one at Lincoln Golf Course. Ttu103 ( talk) 20:45, 15 June 2010 (UTC)ttu103

When I read the information about the 1997 Grand Forks Flood, it was characterized as being extensive with only one death. The citation that was used was a website link. Cite error: There are <ref>
tags on this page without content in them (see the
help page).
http://www.draves.com/gf/ That website refers to the 1997 Grand Forks Flood as having NO deaths. Can another source be used to verify that there actually was one death? I have never read of a death associated with the flood in the Grand Forks Herald or other news sources. Has anyone else?

Would it be valuable to also list the long term care facilities that exist in theGrand Forks area as well (e.g., the Valley Memorial Homes System, Parkwood place, Edgewood Vista, St. Anne's, etc.)? Some of these places are of historical interest. One I would like to see any article on, in particular, is St. Anne's Guest Home. It has quite a history. Also, there is still a misconception circulating about its location (St. Anne's moved in the early '80s but some people still think it is at the old location (which was St. Michael's Hospital). I have a bit of a conflict of interest, so I will be writing an article about it. However, it would be great if someone else would. For more information, the St. Anne's website is: www.stannesguesthome.org . Thank you. 209.169.219.246 ( talk) 22:00, 26 June 2016 (UTC)Sr. Christina Neumann
