Are there any women of note with this award? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.241.245.49 ( talk • contribs)
Photos of the Gold/FC/etc would be nice in their appropriate articles. I agree that the fact GSUSA has changed its top award several times detracts from their 'name recognition'. BSA keeping theirs called Eagle Scout certainly helped. How about an article on the FC award? Also, I understand only 10-12 graders can earn this, other grades the Sivler, etc.; whereas in BSA anyone in a troop can earn the Eagle award--it is not grade dependent....signed and Eagle Scout and father of an Eagle Scout. What is the standard of notability that is going to be used? evrik 18:16, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
I did a search of the microsoft website and nothing came up at all for anyone named lisa chiang. presumed unnotable, deleted. if anyone has a problem with that please state notablity here before reverting.
IMHO, I'd use criteria similar to what is at List of Eagle Scouts on its talk page. If they fail the "google test", we delete them from the article. Rlevse 10:06, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
I don't have the new book(s), but you used to be eligible until you turned 18 OR until graduation (assuming you didn't take extra years to complete high school), whichever was later. Is this still the case? - Bbik 01:55, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
I would like to see more on the Girl Scout Gold Award Alliance. To my uninformed mind, it would appear to be the equivalent of the National Eagle Scout Association. -- Gadget850 ( Ed) 14:16, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
It appears that the the gold award is truly not comparable to the Eagle scout rank of the Boy Scouts. The difficulty of achieving this award might be similar, but the benefit is far from equal. Far more people are aware of Eagle Scouts the are aware of the gold award
as for another thing is there any equivalent to eagle palms in Girl Scouting?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.85.128.227 ( talk) 18:11, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
The problem here is that this award can be highly politicized and there is no way to confirm that adult recepients have actually achieved the award. Girls are not given any way to track or verify their hard work as members of this organization. Even when their leaders keep a record, this is merely a pen and paper form that can be neglected or forged; and the girl herself may never be given a physical copy of the record. The public has no way of tracking which person actually achieved the award. This is vital for those girls who are given military rank or public office based on Girl Scout activities, alleged or faked.
