Hey, thanks for commenting! I have no idea about the spelling; i am just following the National Register's NRIS database listing. Perhaps there are alternative spellings, or perhaps there is a typo in the NRIS (there are others, which are being addressed in correspondence tracked at
wp:NRIS info issues). Complicating this situation right now is the National Register documentation, now linked, seems to be lacking 4 out of its 5 pages, at least for me now on my computer connection. Seems like need to get that document first. I'll put in a request for a free paper copy. Thanks again, already, for making the connection, which should be edited into the article.

Okay, trying again now, I get the whole NRHP document, and it appears "Jedidiah" in the title is a typo, because the main text uses "Jedediah" mostly. Seems that Constance Luyster, the author, used both. It wasn't a data entry error in NRIS, but it appears to be a typo in Luyster's NRHP application document writeup and annotation on the map. I think NRIS should be updated to the correct spelling anyhow. I'll add it to list of
wp:NRIS info issues CT for followup/confirmation with them, and think I should now move this article to "Gen. Jedediah Huntington House".
But, Polaron, do you have some other information? Because I see you created
Jedidiah Huntington as a redirect. If there is not some indication elsewhere that "Jedidiah" is actually a valid alternative spelling, that redirect should be deleted. Could you request that deletion, and/or reply here?

The NRHP nomination form uses both spellings. Also, the second external link in the Jedediah Huntington article uses the "i" spelling. A quick search of various online books shows both spellings in use. --

I've also checked two reference books that talk about Gen. Huntington. "History of Norwich" by Caulkins uses the "i" spelling. "Modern History of New London County" by Marshall uses the "e" spelling. It is quite clear that both spellings are in use with roughly equal frequency. --

Okay, thanks! I noted that, accordingly, at the
Jedediah Huntington article. Perhaps you could add your sources and more info there. And then the NRHP name is not wrong, and no correction to the article name is needed. Thanks.

By the way, in terms of creating redirects, it seems wrong to create a redirect from an alternative spelling, if the target article does not show the alternative spelling. The redirect would exist as an unsupported implicit assertion. And possibly lead to confusion and conflict among editors. Not a problem here any longer, but I would hope you'd pause before creating redirects before adding material and sources to articles. :)
