Suggestion to expand and rename this article
A discussion is underway on the talk page of
microplastics to take this article ("garbage patch"), rename it and expand it (see
here). The new title would be "Plastic pollution in oceans". The content of
plastic soup would also be moved to here. Whilst this article title is about any garbage it seems to be mostly about plastic pollution. The rationale would be to avoid having to start another article but at the same time to consolidate the scattered content of plastics in oceans into one main article:
