Unfortunately I believe this to be a single purpose account and involves a conflict of interest by the person who created the article. See here
Geditcom on twitter the messages say its from Kevin Gartner (Location Corvallis, Oregon, USA) and on

[3]. That aside, I use Geditcom myself and think it a great program by the way, not sure how to add it to the main wiki?

This article is no longer written like an advertisement, and the discussion above under "Why" indicates that this was addressed in 2010. I propose removing that maintenance template.
The second maintenance template speaks to a more serious issue with the article: Notability. The article cites the software's own website and release notes extensively. There are two external sources: a forum with 43 posts and a cursory review of the software. It seems unlikely that this article meets wikipedia's notability standard.
