Hello, Editors. I've made significant edits to the article, focusing on concise writing, removing spoilers from the cast and character section, and making minor updates while preserving critical information. I hope you're okay with these changes. --

Middle America and Woke
Creating a talk page here to prevent what looks like an incoming edit war between and @
Layah50 and @
73.240.202.103.
@
Layah50, if you want them to stop doing the edit that you keep reverting then you actually need to explain why you’re reverting it.
As for @
73.240.202.103, what reason do you have to say that “woke American” is an accepted style of programme on Wikipedia? Because to the best of my knowledge it isn’t one.
On the point about it not stating anywhere in the show that it’s middle America, I’m inclined to say you’re right about that. What reason do you have @
Layah50 for saying it is middle America? What’s the evidence?
@Panda815 Thanks for creating this, I almost did last night upon checking in on this after reverting what I considered to be vandalism a while back with the "woke" thing.
Multiple IPs this year have tried to edit in "woke" as an adjective, and at least one earlier edit summary justified it as based on "all the heroes being black and white people being bad" or something similarly ridiculous. I originally came to this page while watching the show, and I can assure you (for all that matters on en.wiki, which ain't much! 😅) that so-called "woke" or leftist ideology plays NO part in the content. It is a scifi show which involves a diverse cast, and that apparently has ruffled some feathers? (Seriously I would never have guessed before this wiki kerfuffle that anyone would be upset about this racially diverse cast, it's not even a prominent element of the show).
As to the Middle America thing, I completely agree with your read there, and will admit it hadn't even registered with me upon previously editing the article: I thought it was a weird turn of phrase but assumed somebody knew what they were going for when initially including it. There is indeed nothing to determine "Middle" in the show, and it might be beneficial for @Layah50 to concede the exclusion of "Middle" from America in order to reach the more crucial IMO consensus that "woke" is of genuine detriment to this encyclopedic entry.
Will watch this page, if we determine any sources need to be searched up for something, I'm new to sourcing and it would be good practice for me to volunteer an initial lit review, then compile sources here to get feedback on which are "Reliable" for commenting on TV. I'll await further comments though, as I feel the "woke" issue is blatant enough to kind of speak for itself, and it's hard to prove a negative via lit review!

I decided to go find the diff I mentioned above, this is my first time "providing a diff" though I've seen it done on noticeboards etc- does it just involve pasting the relevant hyperlink or is there some magic WP syntax added? Here goes nothing:
Please lmk if this is appropriate formatting and context to support that the "woke" insertion is very much POV in nature, still learning the norms as I shift from lurker to editor! 🙏

Wow, thanks @
Chiselinccc for drawing my attention to that edit. Most people that I've seen hypertext it rather than just hyperlinking but hyperlinking works totally fine! I was wondering what made the show woke as well, but didn't ask originally so as not to get into an argument about woke as a concept in general. I am stunned at the justification of "every white male is evil or messed up, all africans have wisdom and are heroic". I can't understand this at all. The entire Matthews family, Kenny, Victor, Jade etc, are all white but are not evil or messed up. Yes there aren't any black villains but that on its own isn't enough to call it woke and is not going to be some sort of purposeful intention is it. And again, I don't think there's a properly established style with these characteristics on Wiki.
For the Middle America thing, I think @
Layah50 should do what you say, because I think it is the best way forward btw. The woke bit is the main issue here and its this that needs most attention as you rightly say. So yes unless there are any sources for Middle America then that should not be included on the article.
Sources only need to be involved if either @
Layah50 or the IPs want to provide sources for the inclusion of either Middle or Woke. We're using the TV programme itself to say that neither are true, so don't need sources ourselves, unless they provide their own sources about their claims and we disagree with them.
