Would like to see more peer-reviewed sources for article quality and notability. -- Scarpy ( talk) 11:46, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
I generally edited this article and removed the advertisement and notability tags. I had no prior knowledge of this organization prior to finding it on the list of articles written like advertisements. I removed some of the specific beliefs of the organization and added information about its membership statistics, the structure of meetings, the relation to the AA values (which I also don't know much about) and so on.
I would like the article to have more information on how FA is different than Food Addicts Anonymous (FAA) and Overeaters Anonymous (OA). That is, what led to the founding of a separate organization?
The notability tag was removed; I can't name a specific guideline for inclusion, but FAA has an article, and I don't think there's anything to be gained by merging this article or deleting it. Most of the sources are to the organization's own publications, but that is acceptable for an article about what an organization does and how it functions. I Believe the number of WP:SPS tags in the article are inappropriate. Most are cases of WP:ABOUTSELF which is perfectly acceptable as noted by @Roches Cautiously removing some of these tags. Dakinijones ( talk) 17:39, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
Large amounts of the text on this page seem to have come unedited from [ facts] Not something I’m willing to rewrite. Dakinijones ( talk) 18:12, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
https://www.foodaddicts.org/fa-facts maybe this will work better? Dakinijones ( talk) 18:13, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
