No references, a lot of stuff that seems suspect, so deleting away...
So, I just deleted loads of unsourced and unreferenced stuff that seemed doubtful. This included crap about it being based on a Chinese herbal drink. That it has herbs from 50 countries (or whatever it was), and some other crap. The article desperately needs some sources, and just as desperately need protection (though probably not literal MediaWiki protect- just an eye on the page) from idiots and people associated from the drink trying to make the article an ad.

Can't wayback machine save page of Argentina official site
Used the official Argentian website as reference directly for a date, wayback machine seems to get stuck at the "Accept you're over 18 y/o" redirect wall. Couldn't figure out how to work around it.

I've had this drink a handful of times, always bartender-pressured and at closing. It is bitter, they aren't kidding. But it must have its followers, because in a weird WikiTwist of fate, It was easy to find three actual articles dedicated to its appearance in three of the previously-deleted-for-no-references pop culture appearances. So I added those ones back.

If you think this is bitter, try
Cynar; it makes fernet taste like peach schnapps. The pop culture section wasn't deleted for no reason, I deleted it because it lacked any sources (which is reason enough), and also it seemed too trivial to me, per
WP:DUE and
WP:IPC. I'm glad you found sources, but it's still pretty trivial stuff. I'm a bit skeptical that The Drink Nation is a
reliable source but I'm not going to challenge it. I hope this doesn't become a cruft-magnet like so many other popular culture sections, though, but I think it's obscure enough that it won't be a big deal.
